6:30 a.m. Arrival in Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, we will take the morning to rest and in the afternoon we will take a city tour of Cusco, Sacsayhuamán, PucaPucara, Qenqo, and Tambomachay.

On the first day of your arrival, we recommend taking a city tour, which our agency organizes every day. You will be picked up from your hotel at 2:00 p.m. You will have a guided tour of the city center of Cusco, visiting the surrounding areas to see the archaeological parks of Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, PucaPucara, and Tambomachay, returning to the city between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The BTG (general tourist ticket) is mandatory to enter the archaeological complexes. It is also mandatory to bring these entrance tickets for all visits with us, along with your ID.

2.- Sacsayhuamán.

The impressive fortress of Sacsayhuamán is strategically built on a mountain from where you can see all of Cusco. It is famous for its enormous carved stones, some of which are 9 meters or 30 feet high and weigh over 100 tons.

3.- Qenqo

Located four kilometers northeast of the city of Cusco, it features the archaeological sites of Qenqo Grande and Qenqo Chico. Etymologically, it means labyrinth or zigzag. It served a purely religious function, with a semicircular amphitheater on the outside with trapezoidal niches and a monolith that resembles a puma, measuring approximately six meters.

4.- Pukapukara

Puca Pukara means “red fortress” because the limestone rocks used to build it have acquired the reddish color of the soil, which is very rich in iron. It is believed that it served to protect Tambomachay, an important palace in the Inca Empire. However, due to its architectural layout and the existence of fountains, aqueducts, and multiple enclosures, it was also a “tambo,” or collective lodge that offered lodging and food to travelers, as well as to the entourage that accompanied the Inca on his retreat to Tambomachay.

5.- Tambomachay

Tambomachay is located about 8 km north of Cusco and very close to the archaeological site of Pukapukara, which was used for water worship. This place is also called the Baths of the Inca. It consists of a series of aqueducts, canals, and several waterfalls that run through the rocks. The surprising thing about this is that, from one main waterfall, the Incas created two secondary waterfalls, which are exactly the same. In other words, if you place two empty bottles, one in each waterfall, both will fill up at the same time.

The service includes:

  • Transportation by tourist bus for the entire tour.
  • Professional guide.
  • Tourist ticket
