HUMANTAY LAGOON FULL DAY
The Humantay lagoon is located in the eastern Andes mountain range (Vilcabamba chain).
This lagoon has a glacial origin located in Mollepata (Anta, Cusco) has a height of 4,200 meters
above sea level located in Soraypampa area (3,800 m.s.n.m) 3 hours by tourist transportation
from Cusco.
This walk is made for adventurous visitors who do not have many days, but who love to seek
magical places and see nature in all its splendor. This is a full day tour that doesnt need a lot of
experience, just a positive attitude.
If you want to see all the beautiful lagoons that Cusco has to offer, the adventure begins very
early.We pick you up from the Hotel to start the tour to Humantay Lagoon in tourist
transportation and then go to the Mollepata town on a trip of approximately 2 hours passing
before through beautiful and picturesque towns like Poroy and Limatambo. In Mollepata town
(2,900 masl) we will have a delicious breakfast and then continue in our transportation to
Soraypampa town (3,900 masl), from this place we will start the hike up for about an hour to
the beautiful Humantay Lagoon (4,200 masl).
The Humantay Lagoon is a turquoise water mirror located on the slopes of the imposing snow-
capped Apu Humantay. Its waters come from the melting of the snowy Humantay and it is
surrounded by the magnificent mountains and glaciers of the Vilcabamba Mountain Range.
This place is excellent for taking photos, enjoying the landscape and the color of the water
that we will see on the Humantay Lagoon tour. In this place we will have free time to visit and
explore the place and the view of the Humantay mountain (5450 masl) in the Vilcabamba
chain in the Andes, and in the company of our tour guide who will explain to us about this
magnificent place, then we will come back to Soraypampa where we will explore the Salkantay
trail (6271 masl) and the view of this sacred mountain, the second highest mountain in Cusco
region. Then we will have our delicious lunch and then we will take our transportation that will
return us to the city arriving in Cusco at approximately 5:30 p.m., ending the Humantay Lagoon
tour.

RECOMENDACIONES
- La ciudad del Cusco se ubica a 3,399 metros sobre el nivel del mar (m.s.n.m.). A esa altura se recomienda beber mate de coca para combatir el mal de altura.
- El clima de Cusco es en su mayor parte templado. Los días son generalmente soleados en el día. Sin embargo, las lluvias pueden ocurrir en cualquier momento. Se aconseja llevar un poncho para la lluvia.
- Lleve consigo botellas de agua, snacks y dinero en efectivo. Además se aconseja usar bloqueador solar y vestir un gorro o sombrero.
