Day 2: Llama Hike, Andean Pachamanca food, and Textile Workshop in Chinchero

That day  Chinchero invites you to discover the richness of the Sacred Valley through a llama hike along ancient Inca trails, spectacular views of Piuray Lagoon, a traditional weaving workshop, and the preparation of a delicious Andean Pachamanca food.

The adventure begins with a guided tour along original Inca Trail together with llamas and live traditional music. The path goes along rural areas and natural viewpoints, offering unique  views of Piuray Lagoon. Along the way, we collect dye plants, which will be used later in the natural dyeing process.

Once you arrive at the cultural center, we participate in the preparation of  Pachamanca, an ancient technique that cooks Andean meats, potatos, and herbs all this  underground with hot stones. As part of the group, you’ll help to arrange the ingredients and perform the thanksgiving to Pachamama, a sacred ritual of connection with nature.

While the food slowly cooks, the weaving workshop begins. A local master weaver guides the process step by step: from cleaning the wool to dyeing it with natural pigments and creating a unique textile piece that you can take home with you. All materials are included, and no previous experience is necessary.

We close the day by sharing freshly baked Pachamanca in a festive atmosphere with Andean music and traditional dance. An experience that nourishes the soul, the senses, and the connection with the living culture of the Andes.
