FIRST DAY: AIRPORT PICKUP
– AFTERNOON CITY TOUR
Pick up from the airport to your hotel in Cusco at 1:30 p.m., pick up from the hotel for the City Tour, visit the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) and then visit the ceremonial fortress of Sacsayhuamán with its megalithic walls, the greatest architectural work that the
Incas built during their heyday. From the fortress, there is a unique panoramic view of the surrounding area, including the city of Cusco and other archaeological sites such as Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay. Overnight in the city of Cusco.
SECOND DAY: TRADITIONAL SACRED VALLEY
After breakfast, pick up from the hotel (8:30 a.m.) to head to the archaeological citadel of Pisaq, considered one of the largest Inca citadels in Peru. We will take a tour of the main sectors known as neighborhoods, as well as the cemetery area with its more than 3,500 tombs. After the visit, we will descend to the town of Pisaq where we will visit a silversmith workshop and learn about the minerals embedded in the silverwork representing Andean symbolism. Continuing the journey for approximately one hour along the banks of the Vilcanota River, we will arrive in Urubamba, where you will enjoy an exquisite buffet lunch (3-star restaurant).After lunch, you will head to Ollantaytambo, one of the last living Inca towns, whose streets still maintain the same urban layout as in Inca times. You will visit the wonderful archaeological complex located there. The last place to visit
is the village of Chinchero (located one hour from Ollantaytambo), which was the palace of the Inca Tupac Yupanqui, the tenth Inca ruler. You will also be part of experiential tourism with a visit to a textile center where you will see a demonstration of the use of natural dyes in the fabrics and the iconography they represent. Return to Cusco and overnight stay.
THIRD DAY: MARAS MORAY SALINERAS
Pick up from the hotel at 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. One hour and 30 minutes drive to the archaeological complex of Moray, unique in its kind.
These are depressions or gigantic natural holes that were used to build agricultural terraces. From here, we will go to the village of San Francisco de Asís de Maras, characterized by its colonial doors with coats of arms of nobles and chiefs from the 16th and 20th centuries. We will taste chocolate with salt in the town of Maras and learn about the different varieties of salt and their uses. We will then head to the Salineras salt mines, where we will see the salt harvest, which has been exploited since Inca times and used as a means of trade. We will also see the famous pink salt used
by chefs around the world. Return to Cusco.
FOURTH DAY: RAINBOW MOUNTAIN
Cusco – Cusipata – Vinicunca Pick up at your hotel between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. You will travel with our transport to the community of CUSIPATA on a paved road for approximately 1.5 hours, where you will have our buffet breakfast.
Then you will continue along the Cusipata route for 30 minutes until you reach the town of CHILLIHUANl, where you will pass through picturesque places such as TINTINKO and RÍO TIGRE, and you will see the Surina mountain through the LLACTO sector.
You will then pass the CUSIPATA checkpoint. From there, we will continue our journey along a trail for approximately 20 minutes until we reach the starting point of our hike.
After that, our adventure to the rainbow mountain will begin for approximately 1 hour and a half. Continuing the hike, you will pass through a path that will gradually change the landscape between colorful mountains and small streams of icy water that feed and give life to this valley. You will also be able to enjoy the presence of South American camelids such as llamas and alpacas.
We will reach a maximum altitude of 5029 meters above sea level. Summit of the mysterious Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). After the experience, you will return on foot along the same route to the city where the tour began, where you will enjoy a buffet lunch, and then return to the city of Cusco around 6:00 p.m.
FIFTH DAY: SOUTHERN VALLEY
Pick up from the hotel at 8:30 a.m. to visit Tipón, the ultimate expression of the Inca hydraulic system in full operation, the group of terraces or andenes, and the religious area.
followed by a visit to one of the pre-Inca citadels, the center of the Wari culture, the famous Piquillaqta with its straight streets, military urban system, buildings over 12 m high, and ending with a visit to the colonial church of Andahuaylillas, one of the greatest expressions of colonial art. Return to Cusco and overnight stay.
SIXTH DAY: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU CITADEL
The next day, departure at approximately 4:00 a.m. You will take the tourist bus to the Ollantaytambo station and the train from the same station. Visit the citadel of Machu Picchu for approximately 25 minutes. then you will have a guided tour of this magical place for 2 hours to take a complete tour (Temple of the Sun, Sacred Plaza, Intiwatana, Main Plaza, Quarries, etc.). Then you will have free time to explore the place (Inca bridge, Gate of the Sun).After the tour of Machu Picchu, you will return to the town of Aguas Calientes and take the train back to Cusco at around 7:00 p.m. (approximately one and a half hours). You will arrive at the town of Ollantaytambo, where the transfer driver will pick you up to return to the city of Cusco (another hour and a half), hotel in Cusco.
SEVENTH DAY: HUMANTAY LAGOON
Humantay Lake is considered one of the most beautiful and sacred lakes in Cusco with its turquoise waters adorned by the snow-capped peaks of Salkantay (6,271 meters above sea level) and nearby Humantay (5,473 meters above sea level), one of the must-see places in the region. Pick up from the hotel between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m. Two hours drive to the town of Mollepata where you will have a delicious breakfast. We will then continue for another hour to the starting point of the hike called Soraypampa (3,900 meters above sea level). Two hours of uphill hiking, averaging three kilometers. We will spend an hour around the Humantay Lake for photos, explanations from the guide, and to enjoy the scenery before returning to the town of Mollepata where a buffet lunch will be waiting for us. We will then return to Cusco, a two-hour drive.
EIGHTH DAY: FREE DAY: Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the airport. End of services.
