Short Inca Trail itinerary 2D/1N
Day 1 – Cusco – Km 104 – Wiñay Wayna – Aguas Calientes
Early departure from Cusco to the train station in Ollantaytambo.
The tour begins at Km 104, where you will visit the archaeological sites of Chachabamba and Wiñay Wayna, jewels of the ancient trail.
After about 6 hours of walking through nature and enjoying views of the valley, you will arrive at Inti Punku, where you will get your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu.
Then, you will descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will spend the night.
Day 2 – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Early breakfast and eco-friendly bus ride up to the sanctuary.
Professional guided tour (approx. 2 hours) of the main areas of Machu Picchu.
Free time to explore or climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (optional with reservation).
In the afternoon, return to Cusco by train.
